Your Employment Success – Y.E.S – is an Australian Government-funded disability employment service, specialising in helping those who are Deaf or hearing impaired to find work in South Australia.

In the past 12 months, Y.E.S has successfully found employment for countless jobseekers, enabling the office expansion.

The non-profit Y.E.S is committed to finding quality, sustainable and individually-focused employment for its clients. Y.E.S staff use Auslan (Australian sign language), plus understand the cultural differences between the Deaf and hearing worlds, enabling them to help their clientele navigate the world of work.

A sausage sizzle at the Bedford Park premises of Y.E.S, from 5pm-9pm, will mark the official opening of the extended offices.

Michelle Destefano, 32, who has had congenital profound deafness since birth, is one client who recently secured employment through Y.E.S. She now works as a data management clerk in the CBD.

“Before I found Y.E.S, it was very hard looking for work – the worst time of my life,” Michelle admits. “I continually got refused and rejected at interviews. I know many times I’ve had the skills for a job, but I’ve been unsuccessful because of my deafness... Y.E.S gave me a leg-up to finding a job I love, with fantastic staff.”

Y.E.S manager Mary Dillon is very proud of the business’s success and its office expansion, and hopes to spread the word. “Y.E.S would like to invite your business to come along and celebrate our office expansion and find out more about why we are unique and a valued provider.”

Y.E.S began in 2003 with nine clients. It now has 85 clients. Y.E.S is part of SA Group Enterprises – a non-profit organisation, which provides employment for people with disability across five separate enterprises.

This year, in 2012, SA Group Enterprises celebrates 26 years. For more information on Y.E.S, phone 8464 0782 or email Sandra Mercer at
